Containment – The conditions for growth

Your current way of being is the product of years – and often decades – of biological, psychological, social and cultural conditioning.

Any desire for change arises from a tension between who you are today and who you aspire to become. Meaningful growth therefore begins with an honest assessment of your current reality. Most often this involves awakening to aspects of yourself that are no longer serving you.

This process will inevitably cause discomfort. The coaching journey will provide support to hold this kind of uncertainty.

Intentionality – The direction of growth

Change is seldom easy. Yet understanding the process of change can inspire commitment and provide confidence for the journey ahead.

Intentionality is about consciously choosing where and how to invest your energy during this journey of disruption. It provides direction, focus, and a sense of progress (and often some quick wins).

The coaching journey offers a developmental framework that guides this process, enabling you to navigate change with more clarity and purpose.

Commitment – The perseverance for growth

Sustainable transformation requires more than insight. It requires the gradual formation of a new way of being. This takes time, patience and commitment.

The coaching journey develops the capacities and competencies needed to reshape your life. It also cultivates the practices that sustain growth long after the coaching engagement has ended.

Perhaps most importantly, it enables you to recognise when you have drifted off course, and to self-correct.

  • A safe and compassionate space for acknowledging your current reality: Awakening to the life-limiting realities of your life causes discomfort (it is much less disruptive to live in denial!). I will provide support and equip you with skills for managing the disruption.  
  • A framework for self-understanding: It will allow you to see all the domains of your life, and helps you understand how (and why) one part affects all the others. The framework enables you to assess the reality of your life with greater accuracy, and to discern where to intervene.  
  • The opportunity to address your current challenges: The journey will allow you to draw from a wide range of psychological, philosophical, and developmental frameworks, growing your competencies in service of resolving your current challenges. 
  • The insistence on sustainable change: Changing behaviour is one thing, but sustaining it is quite another. We will not be content with behaviour change alone, but will aim at sustainable change. The process will enable you to identify your current operating system, which allows you to self-diagnose and self-correct.
